NOOR-E-KHUDA

Only yesterday I had heaved

A sigh of relief.

At last, at long last,

I can breathe without fear.

Life was just entering me when...

Again I hear blasts, homes in cinders.

Brothers and sisters are

Blood and bones after all!

They say we are in their homes

We say they are in our home.

War - virus of the mind

Peace - like silence, sounds deafening.

I ask you: "Noor-e-khuda,

Tell us where you hide,

Pray not avert Your Grace like this!"
