In the absence of humanity,
Nature reclaimed the lake.
There now also resides a dragon, Haku:
The chief priest of the lake.
A curiosity that borders on fatal,
Makes its nest in my head.
And I go to pay Haku obeisance,
Before Nature runs out of time.
In the midst of our exchange,
I state, "Humans will try to reoccupy this lake."
With a snort, Haku replies,
"You puny humans will never learn."
His green eyes flashed, chilling me to my bones,
Knee caps trembling, I am now a marshmallow.
Yet, with all the silliness that a human is capable of,
I blurt out, "Dragons are just giant lizards."
Woops!!
