FLIGHT

I had made wings to fly

Wings of dreams and hopes.

Now I have chained them up.

Without care - they rot.

Built of light they were

Bright, open, buoyant.

Today, clipped, dirty, heavy

Unable to unfurl.

My fault, all my fault

Chains - doubts, perceptions.

I know the need to take

A Leap of Faith.

Yet, am too afraid, so tied to Earth.

The beckoning air seems distant.

I need to fly - now. Now!

Or I might never take flight ever.
