Bataao zaraa humein

Ki ye ghairat mandi hai

Ya khud garzi (?),

Ki maine 'khud'ko chunaa

'Hum'ko nahi.

Translation:

[Just tell me

If it would be self respect,

Or selfishness (?),

That I chose 'me',

And not 'us'.]
